In the pastoral scenery on the outskirts of Chengdu, the “Pastoral Home” farmhouse resort has recently become particularly eye-catching due to a white PVC low fence. This fence, only 0.8 meters tall, not only cleverly separates the planting area from the dining area but also adds a touch of elegance and tidiness to the entire resort.
The farmhouse has been in operation for five years. As its business grew, owner Mr. Zhang noticed a problem: guests often couldn’t distinguish between the dining area where they were free to walk and the planting area where vegetables were being cultivated. Sometimes children accidentally stepped on young seedlings, while other guests hesitated to move freely for fear of entering the vegetable plots. To solve this issue, Mr. Zhang began searching for solutions online.
“I was searching for ‘farmhouse partition fencing’ on my phone that day, and many results popped up,” Mr. Zhang recalled. “But I was immediately drawn to the case pictures on your website, especially the real-life photo showing how a farmhouse used this fencing – it was so similar to my situation.” After clicking into the website, he found not only detailed product information but also many case studies of farmhouses like his. “After watching the transformation video of another farmhouse, I decided to consult right away.” Through the online customer service system on the website, Mr. Zhang quickly contacted sales consultant Xiao Xie. “Xiao Xie was very professional. He first asked for the floor plan of my farmhouse and then recommended the most suitable model based on my needs,” Mr. Zhang said. “What reassured me the most was that they promised to send a sample first so I could check the quality.”

Upon receiving the sample, Mr. Zhang conducted a special test: “I soaked it in water for a week and then exposed it to the sun, but it didn’t deform or fade at all.” This test completely convinced him, and he immediately placed an order for 300 meters of fencing. “I chose PVC fencing mainly because it’s lightweight and durable,” Mr. Zhang explained. “Our farmhouse needs to adjust planting areas according to the seasons, so we need to move the fencing frequently. Traditional bamboo or wooden fences fall apart after being moved a few times, while iron fences are too heavy. This PVC fencing can be easily moved by one person, and it’s very simple to assemble.”
The white design of this batch of PVC fencing complements the farmhouse’s pastoral style perfectly. Each section of the fence is approximately 1.5 meters long and fixed by ground stakes), allowing for easy repositioning as needed. The fence also features movable small gates at regular intervals for staff to enter and exit the planting area. A particularly thoughtful detail is the smooth arc-shaped top of the fence, which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also prevents guests from getting scratched.
The effect of the fence was immediate after installation. Guests have repeatedly mentioned that with this clear boundary, they feel more at ease bringing children. Ms. Li, who was dining there, said, “Before, I always had to keep an eye on my child to prevent them from running into the vegetable plots, but now the fence puts my mind at ease. Plus, the white fence looks very fresh and photogenic.”

What surprised Mr. Zhang even more was the fence’s durability. Given Chengdu’s humid and rainy weather, the previous bamboo fences would become moldy and rotten in less than half a year. However, the PVC fence remained as clean and new as ever after surviving a rainy season. “After rain, you just wipe it with a cloth – no need to worry about mold at all,” Mr. Zhang said happily.
During the winter closure period, Mr. Zhang stores the fence in the warehouse and can reuse it the following spring. “This fence is extremely easy to disassemble and assemble, and it doesn’t take up much space when stored. In the long run, it’s much more cost-effective than replacing bamboo fences every year.” He calculated that although the initial investment in the PVC fence was higher than bamboo, it is expected to last five to six years, making it more economical over time.
Now, the white PVC fence at “Pastoral Home” has not only solved the functional zoning problem but also unexpectedly become a unique landscape of the farmhouse. Many guests specially take photos by the fence, and Mr. Zhang often sees peers coming to inspect and learn from it. “I never expected such a small fence to bring so many benefits,” Mr. Zhang said with a smile. “It’s practical, beautiful, and saves a lot of maintenance trouble – every penny spent is worth it!”

This small transformation case demonstrates that in the construction of rural tourism facilities, choosing appropriate materials can often achieve twice the result with half the effort. With their lightness, durability, and aesthetic appeal, PVC fences are being increasingly adopted by farmhouses and ecological parks, adding a beautiful landscape to rural tourism.
